Being able to shoot would make it more interesting. It's O.K. It definately could be better.
A lot.'The Force Unleashed' is not only a great game by standards of story, acting, graphics, etc. While this was annoying, it never gave me any real trouble in cokmpleting the game.If you are. Over the course of the game you, or rather the character you play, will learn to unleash the Force in very powerful ways.
Also, the acting and dialogue are excellent. (a) A Star Wars fan with a PSP(b) A gaming fan with a PSP(c) A gaming fan, and Star Wars fan, with a PSP (they call those nerds I think)or (d) A Star Wars fan without a PSP.Then I highly recommend buying this game, expecially considering the price that it sells for now. It is extremely amusing to watch the cut-scenes because of the sharp writing and the way the characters interact with each other.Perhaps my only complaint is that the camera is a bit slow at times and gets turned around.
Let me begin by saying that 'The Force Unleashed' is aptly named. The controls are excellent and work perfectly for the handheld gaming system.'Unleashed' is by far the best game I have played for PSP.The story is pretty good, perhaps speculatively changing your view of Star Wars continuity in a provocative way. In the case of (d) you won't be able to play it, but the UMD case is extremely attractive to look at.FIVE STARS.
And you will like it. It is also perfectly designed for the PSP.
However, after being forced to replay the same level over and over I have to say that the lack of an in-mission save feature soured me on this game. Load up a saved game and surprise.
Why couldn't the developers at least have added a few save checkpoints throughout the missions. you're back at the beginning of the level, forced to replay the exact same level you just played yesterday.
The Good: Great graphics, force powers are fun to use, authentic Star Wars sounds. The Bad: In-mission saves are useless, camera gets a bit wonky at times, long load times, in-mission saves are useless, boss battles entirely too dependent on button-mashing combos, did I mention that the in-mission saves are useless.Well, I had high hopes for SWFU after reading the reviews. Much to my chagrin, I realized that SWFU's save function doesn't actually save the mission where you left off.
I can live with the long load times and sometimes clumsy camera, but forcing players to replay the same levels over and over is not entertainment, it's frustration. At first blush, the force powers and light saber effects are great.
I'm the type of player that likes to play a PSP game in bite size chunks (waiting in the car, over my lunch hour, etc).
This version has some extra features like the lightsaber dueling mode and survival like mode where they keep throwing all manner of baddies at you in a level by level format. There is also some choppy slowdown at different points, mostly when a large number of enemies are on the screen. Forces Unleashed is a solid star wars game on any platform, even the psp. One of my main complaints is the camera, it can get wild sometimes and i found myself trying to use a right analog stick that wasn't there as i was used to the xbox version. The fact that this jedi game is portable is pretty sweet in itself, but i have to admit that while i was playing it, there were times that i wanted to just play the xbox version. The graphics are quite impressive for a psp title. I like the controls for a xbox version better but once you get used to the psp button scheme its not too bad.
However, when you run to an object to throw, oftentimes the camera is so slow in panning to the target (the boss), that the target is on your back before you can throw the object. My personal favorite is Order 66. You can also earn force points to upgrade your force abilities. The only thing that kept me from giving this a perfect 5 is the lagging camera responsiveness. It's a great game for any Star Wars fan. The Force Unleashed mode allows you to select from multiple scenarios made famous throughout the Star Wars saga. And you can play it on the go.
Taking the bosses into consideration again, you often find yourself getting knocked down or shot down when you try to attempt to use the force. Outfits, lightsaber parameter upgrades, lightsaber color customization and lightsaber hilt selection. Every now and then, a wave will consist of a boss character. There are numerous unlockables in the story mode as well. Another drawback (or advantage). Each wave including either more numerous or dangerous opponents.
Some bosses require you to use the force to throw objects at them. You select which character you wish to use (you can unlock scenarios and characters by meeting certain criteria - like clearing story mode for example) and then you fight your way through "waves" of opponents. It has pretty good gameplay with two game modes: Story and Force Unleashed. Other times the force is a bit slow on locking onto or effecting a target. is that there are so many force powers that (unless you're a fighter game addict) you can't remember them all so you end up just using a few of them - usually the easiest to execute. The graphics are great and load time is minimal.
